“We didn’t want to leave!”
…A really delightful and historic property three minutes walk from the boulangerie / bread shop in a charming, sleepy village.
…The wonderfully proportioned pool was a complete pleasure and the whole ‘yard’ / garden area became a perfect day-time activity/ chill out area. In the evenings we dined by candlelight outside at the large all weather table by the pool.
…The house was the core of our holiday and we loved to relax and spend time “at home” there.
“Modern, spacious chalet”
We travelled as a family with two children aged 10 and 12 and had the in-laws visiting. The chalet is modern, clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed all the amenities such as TV, wifi etc. The ski bus stops just outside the door, the ski hire shop is just up the road and there is a variety of skiing terrain to explore. The views from the chalet are beautiful and parking is very easy. Can highly recommend it and we are planning to stay there again.
“Perfect location for exploring this wonderful unspoilt part of Italy”
We stayed in Trullo Alto for the first week of Easter holidays and it really was a perfect ‘home’ from which to enjoy Puglia. The house was well equipped, even down to the more than welcome bottle of wine and chilled Peroni which awaited us when we arrived late on the Saturday evening! There was enough space for us all both inside and outside, and we felt the children were able to make use of the pool and outdoors without us having to worry about anything.
The villa and grounds are well maintained and have good facilities – especially useful was the washer/dryer and large fridge which are located in a little outhouse behind the house. The views are fabulous! We enjoyed looking out onto fields of vegetables and olive groves whilst having our ‘aperitivo’ and cooking on the BBQ.
One of our party brought his bike along which enabled him to go out each morning and explore the countryside – perfect cycling conditions apparently!
The driveway/track up to the house was a little scary to start…. very narrow and we had a large Subaru Forrester….! However, we managed to survive the week with no mishaps or scratches to the car so it can be done!
Puglia is gorgeous…. very unspoilt and probably even better that we were off season. The food is amazing and incredibly good value. The quote of the holiday was that it would be hard to go back to Waitrose ice cream after all that wonderful gelato in Puglia (twice a day….!) And as for the burrata…. mozzarella in the UK will never taste as fresh!
“Wonderful cottage and facilities”
A wonderful cottage. Four of us had a bedroom each, there were two bathrooms / toilets and an additional shower room with toilet on the ground floor. This was very important to us as one of our friends only has one leg and this meant he had no stairs to climb. He had a downstairs bedroom and his own washroom facilities. Ample space in the kitchen which was fully equipped with everything you would need to stay and a large kitchen table. Large fridge / freezer. A lovely lounge which then led to another room with table and chairs.
The best part for me was I originally spoke to Mark about the booking and explained we had a disabled person with us. Everything he said about the cottage and as listed on his website is true. No nasty surprises.
Another added bonus was the Lamb pub some 5 minutes walk away. Lovely beer, food and staff.
All in all a wonderful time in Great Rissington and would have no hesitation in recommending and we will be returning.
“Beautiful Spot”
We stayed last month and had a lovely holiday. We used both Trulli and despite soaring temperatures it remained nice and cool inside. The new pool heating was very effective and meant the pool was perfect even for our 9 month old at the beginning of the season. There was a cherry tree next to one trulli which was covered in ripe cherries so we ate them all week straight off the tree!
Hire care essential, but with one there are plenty of places to explore. Read the comments book and go to the restaurant that you can walk to… Two of us went there one evening and has a lovely meal of mixed antipasti, a pizza and desert combined with a carafe of wine. Felt slightly guilty when the whole bill came to 33 Euros!
“Lovely cottage in a picture postcard village”
Lovely well equipped cottage providing excellent accommodation for our family gathering of six adults.First class accommodation with three bathrooms! Lovely village pub, good walks from front door and lovely villages only a short drive away.
“A comfortable, spacious, well equipped chalet, ideal for a group.”
This very comfortable 4 bedroom chalet is located in Klosters Dorf. This a small village a short bus ride from Klosters Platz. An easy walk down the hill takes you to the Madrissa ski hill, lots of fun but mainly T bars on the slope. A bus outside the chalet leaves twice an hour for Klosters Platz, the main, famous ski area. There are some magnificent ski runs and excellent restaurants on the slopes. We left our skis and boots in Klosters Platz on the first day at a rental shop at the bus/train stop which made things much easier. We took a bus into Klosters Platz every morning, always on time, and in our walking boots.
The bedrooms in the chalet were comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space and bedding. There is a very efficient heating system and lots of hot water. The wifi is fast and reliable. There is a laundry room, lots of cooking utensils and a lovely view of the mountain. At night we went to Klosters Platz, where there are some great restaurants. We went by bus or train and took a taxi home. The manager of the chalet on sight was very helpful. She got groceries in for us and helped us with transportation from the station and gave helpful advise. There is a big co-op grocery shop in Klosters Platz which is very good and quite reasonable, there is a smaller shop for basics close to the chalet. We thought the chalet was excellent value and had a superb holiday, with ages ranging from 19 to 69.
